The Sherlock Street Irregulars are a group of like-minded people interested in Sherlock Holmes and the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is a literary society, which means that it primarily focuses on the written form, and although members are welcomed from all over the world, our focus is intentionally local. Sherlock Street, after which this group is named, is located in an area called Highgate, within the city of Birmingham, and is one of several possible inspirations for the great detective’s first name, having been a well-known part of the city when Doyle was serving as a local doctor there.
